denim thick

Lately the weather has been so amazing in sydney that I've been at the beach pretty much everyday and not wearing much. So i guess outfit posts may be a bit lacking this summer but I've been constantly buying new film and little disposable cameras and taking them everywhere i go.

The other day I found this AMAZING (did someone say amazing? oh right i did!) vintage cane box bag that looks like a teeny tiny hat box on a leather strap. I was op-shopping and as soon as i saw it i pretty much ran over and snatched it up like a paranoid lunatic before someone else did!
Completely perfect for summer.

Speaking of 'perfect for summer' I think i almost have TOO much denim....Wait, what am i talking about!? Scratch that last. I don't think there is such thing as too much denim this season! Bring it on, drown me in denim for all i care!

golden years

I look a bit angry in these photos but it was more like "Yum i love the sun".

Bit in love with this skirt (floral is always a winner for spring) high waisted, body hugging and light!

I wore this to a BBQ a week or so ago (gosh spring is getting to me, i think I'm doing a bit too much relaxing already!)

Also wearing my birthday clogs! Or clunks as my mum calls them (mum- "oh i had a pair of clunks!' me- "Don't you mean clogs?" mum - "No, we called them clunks then. Because of the noise they made when you walked." ... ok then)

wearing: tee - bardot
skirt - vintage
canvas bag - vintage
clogs - rubi (quality! boom)
sunnies - bali rayban

wearing: vintage akubra hat, mimco bag and everything else is vintage.

I wore this today running errands and getting my morning apricot danish.
I can never get sick of this dress (or my denim jacket for that matter) so easy to wear!
It was (almost) hot today which gave me a little spring in my step.

Below are some of the photos from my birthday dinner last week.
The food was so yummy ( i had salt&pepper squid and a vege stack) and so was the cake and tea afterwards (even though the whole 'happy birthday' cake bit is always embarrassing in public).

I received sooo many amazing presents, way more than I was expecting and some lovely surprises! Lots of owls, new clothes, tea & my new teapot and 'eat, pray, love' just to name a few. Thanks to everyone who left me lovely birthday wishes =)

snowdrops

Hopefully this will be my last wintery post! Its slowly slowly heating up in sydeny and thank god because my lips are sick of being chapped and my fingers are sick of being frozen!

So here are my photos from the snow!
For some reason i always have so much luck when i go to the snow. Its almost always snow the night/week before and we get to ski in the sunshine on rather nice snow.
However our first day on the mountain was so terrible that everyone just went back to the lodge early and had tea.

Luckily the next day when we woke up the sun was shining! We stay in thredbo village so all we have to do is get up and dressed then catch the shuttle bus down to the chair lifts.

retro [MELB: the end]

So here are the last photos from my splendid trip to melbourne.

Photobucket
Brunswick St

On the last day we woke up and walked down to flinders station. It was a sunday morning and the city was dead! It was crazy because it was already 10am and i think i saw 2 people on the streets apart from people working in the shops. (by the way melbourne your trains are confusing! we ended up doing a city circle tour by accident.)

Eventually we caught the train to camberwell (markets). It must have been a bad day at camberwell or something but I was a little disappointed. There were lots of people there but most of the stalls were pretty empty and i didn't even get anything. After about half an hour we just left and did some more shopping in the city.

Don't get me wrong I'm not dissing melbourne (because the trip was excellent and I loved the city vibe and the amazing old buildings and arty structures) but I didn't find many shopping opportunities.
We had more fun just walking around and stopping to eat whenever we could!

I have some photos from my snow weekend away and photos from during the week to show you too. Most of them don't feature me because I've been sick and couldn't show my washed-out, bags-under-my-eyes face!

Luckily I'm getting better now because today is my birthday. Yay for me right? I'm saying goodbye to my teenage years (tear) and becoming an actual person. Or is that when you turn twenty one? Oh well

Second day in melbourne was rainy and windy but it was the most fun!

We had an amazing tea & breakfast in a little cozy french cafe on little bourke. We then went to QV markets and then over to brunswick street.

More to come =)

Day 1: Part 2

If these walls could talk they would probably be drunk and screaming profanities at me but colourful and magical all the same

My next post will be the rest of the photos from our melbourne trip but i may not be able to post them till next week because tomorrow I am going to the snow to go skiing in the sunshine!
