summer adventures

Photobucket

Here's another small glimpse into some of my last weeks of holidays with my fisheye film camera.
Tomorrow I start my first day of University and all I can really think about is how some days I'll be getting up before the sun. So far I've managed to sleep in most of my life and only really got up before 7am if we were going on a holiday. I guess this is growing up. (note: that last sentence has to be sung)

Franco

wearing: Vintage Sheer blouse
Vintage & DIYed shorts
Mimco Bag
Vintage Boots
Seafolly Sunglasses from Sunburn.com.au
Nail Polish from Sportsgirl

These are my most recent DIYed shorts and I can't get enough of their 90s denim feel.
Also very stretchy and comfortable.

I wore this to see 127hours with James Franco. All I have to say about the film is that its just one of those ones you'll have to see. Its a bit like an intense creative doco that takes you for a ride and you just go with it.

But really do you need an excuse to see it? James Franco up close, flashbacks with a semi naked Clemence Posey, drinking urine... what else do you need?
Hmmm..no?

less-more

Photobucket

wearing: shorts - Lucky 13, Tee - cotton on, boots - vintage and old socks.

In the heat of summer 'Less is More' is an excellent rule to go by. I recently bought this oversized tee in that yummy shade of burnt orange and wore it with simple black shorts and my current favourite boots.

Summer is almost over and everything is happening! And not just in the fashion world (but isn't all the fashion week shows exciting!? NY, London, Milan, Paris!). Soon I'm starting my university course (yes, I'm going back to school!), attending a couple weddings and parties and I also have a nice group of exciting collaborations lined up for Spin Dizzy Fall.

Now I just have to sort the exciting events from the nerve-wracking ones.

getting lost behind the scenes

Photobucket

So here's the "Behind the Scenes" photos for the seafolly post before.
There's only a behind scenes post because Luke and I decided to venture into the bushlands trying to find the river without actually knowing where we were going!

For the first hour a sat back while Luke walked ahead putting on his best tracker voice and saying things like 'Hmm, these tracks are new, it must be this way!' or 'This cobweb has recently been broken, we must be close!' or 'Look these people must have parked here to go swimming!'

You'll notice the car in the photo has crashed and rusted... Needless to say I took over!

We finally found 'the hill' and we knew we were on track because this hill could not be mistaken. The mother of all hills! My 'new' vintage un-scratched man boots took a beating but thank god I didn't wear sandals down this rocky road. I have to say it wasn't much fun climbing back up!

Usually getting lost is amazing fun and even though it was a hot summer day and i may still have spider webs in my hair it really was a funny day!

wearing: vintage net tee, vintage self altered shorts, vintage boots, opshop bag, seafolly cosie, seafolly sunnies and shawl from bali.

'Down By The River' with Sunburn Swimwear

Photobucket

I received these amazing Seafolly Plume cosies from swimwear website SUNBURN.
I love the cosies from Seafolly because they sell separates (Size small cosies usually come with teeny tiny tops that I can never fit my top half into!) and these fit me perfectly!

I could go on about how much I love this bikini but to be honest I just had so much fun shooting these photos down by the river and isn't that what summer swims are all about?
Having fun, jumping around and diving under the cool water without having to be self conscience about your bikini sliding off! It was perfect!

I fell in love with this feather pattern and I'm all for the natural colours!

The Plume bikini (top and bottom here) are by Seafolly as are the gold bangles I'm wearing (love wearing gold when I go swimming!)

the beautiful and the damned

Today I just wore a simple black floor length dress with a vintage belt to catch up with old friends.
I've also taken a 'whats in my bag' photo and yes, yes I know I've just posted my summer essentials in the post before but I found this new bag on my latest opshopping visit so any excuse to show it off.

In my bag: Sunnies - Seafolly from Sunburn, bag of my favourite gems, Coconut body butter (YUM), blistex, gold jewellery for today, iPhone, frankie diary and huge pencil pen, keys, wallet from sportsgirl and vintage film camera.
I've always collected rocks and gems since I was little and these 5 below are my favourite and I tend to take them everywhere. (the photos will never do them justice).

Although the Hero of this post is these new photographs released of Stylestalker's brand new collection 'The Beautiful and The Damned'.
This collection was inspired by smoke and sayonces, haunted beauty, fancy hotels and sleazy motels. I have to say it is my favourite collection from the Stylestalker duo so far and it really gets me thinking about the fashion filled winter ahead!

The past week of heat in sydney has really shown what an Australia Summer should be but now it feels like autumn is already on is way! I suspect mother nature is up to her old tricks again and it will sunny again any day now.

I was lucky enough to be featured in the first ever issue of Alexis Magazine along side some amazing bloggers including Dylana from Color Me Nana.
