wearing: two-tone cardigan - The Cassette Society, borrowed jeans, miss shop tee, vintage boots, mimco bag and rings from Lovisa and bangle.

On the weekend it was earth hour. We decided to stay home in the warm to hide from the rain and we lit candles all around the house. When it was time to turn lights back on I found that my candle that NEVER BURNS PROPERLY had exploded everywhere (below) ! Crazy little mofo. BOOM!

One of my best friends from high school had her engagement party on the weekend and I wore my brand new cardi from The Cassette Society. I love shoulder patches! This one will definitely be in my suitcase for New Zealand next week. (Did I mention i was going to NZ?)

I have lots to post before then (a DIY post, collaborations, outfit posts and a sneak peak of my next giveaway) so stay tuned sugar plums and dandelions.

wearing: Skirt - cassette society, Pocket tee - cotton on, Blue Jacket - vintage and Boots -vintage.

I was sent this skirt from The Cassette Society. Its not as formal as leather but more fancy than a plain mini skirt which is great to dress up or down and I love the 90s grunge feel. Also check out the joint front and back pockets, genius!

I wore this out the other night when i found this bright blue jacket that was one of my first ever opshop buys. I love the contrast of basic pieces with bold colours this season. I bought a bright yellow iphone case on ebay just the other day and I can't wait till it gets here because my phone needs a makeover.

Hope your all having a nice weekend (and stay warm in the wind, Sydney!)

Ever since I saw this scarf on the House Of Holland Fall11 runway I decided it needed to be my new Uni buddy for winter. The chances of me getting a hold of one of these from house of holland were pretty slim (considering I am using all my pennies to buy myself a tea a day at Uni and frankly I just wanted it now!) so I decided to make my own.

I've been posting on twitter (here) about my progress and I have finally finished attaching all the little squares together and just need to tie up the loose ends! Originally, I decided to make my scarf shorter (you'll notice the HOH scarf is dragging on the ground) but then I remembered that the model probably has 3 feet on me and my scarf turned out floor length in the end anyway. It actually turned out for the better because its an amazing long shawl that i can wrap myself up in like a cocoon.

If you wanted to make a multicoloured scarf or blanket this winter i suggest getting wool from op-shops. They usually come in bags which are great to get a variety of colours!

WHOWHATWEAR

wearing: tee - sportsgirl, shorts - borrowed, over shirt - thrifted, tote - Gary Pepper Vintage, necklace - cotton on and bracelet - thrifted.

On monday I received this much loved tote from the one and only Nicole from Gary Pepper Vintage. Needless to say it's getting a workout at uni and thank god its not just a pretty face because my textbooks are heavy and this baby is tough!
These totes are $5 from GPV. Need I say more?

This month I'm featured in both the new issue of Alexis Magazine(Issue 2) and (one of my favourite fashion websites) the March issue of WHO WHAT WEAR - Style Stalker!
The same outfit (actually the same photo!) has been featured so luck must have been on my side the day I put on that long silk skirt.

Thanks to everyone who let me know about the features! Also 'hello!' to my new followers and new buddies on twitter! Hope your having a lovely weekend =)

wearing: woven jacket+bag - thrifted, tee and shorts - gifted from supre, socks - we love colours and vintage boots.

We can feel winter on its way this week in Sydney after a lovely weekend of sunshine.
Over the weekend I stayed in a friends apartment looking over the beach.
Sometimes all you need is a lonely beach to relax and have a little break.

I received a gift pack from the lovely Steph and supre today, so I whacked on these shorts plus tie tee and toddled off to uni in the drizzle.

Here are my outfit photos from the Mrs Press bloggers night!
I was super rushed after my second day at uni and I threw on this little number and ran out the door! Luckily a batwing mesh tee will always save the day.

Also in this post are some photos taken at the event by Xiaohan Shen from http://www.xssatstreetfashion.com/.

golden morning

Photobucket

wearing: jacket/boots - thrifted, tee - sportsgirl, bag - oroton.

I wore this on my very first day as an official uni student.
I swear this is an outfit post and not 'Pose for your first day of school, sweetie!' photos.

I love this embroided gold jacket. Perfect for the terrible change in season temperatures that go from freezing to HOT within a couple hours.

So far I'm really liking Uni and I get a lot of reading/knitting/chatting time on the commute.

Not to mention its an amazing coastal train that goes right along the ocean line and I can't help but stare at the sunrise in the mornings or the mid-day, deep, blue ocean as far as the eye can see.

Because of this I feel quite lucky.

VIP Bloggers Night at MRS PRESS

Photobucket

During the week me and my lovely blogger buddy, Brooke from re:new, went to check out the new collection from Mrs. Press and catch up with other sydney bloggers at the Mrs Press VIP bloggers night!

The 'Mrs.Press Dressing Room' in paddington is lovely! I was pleasantly surprised to find my photo in the window along with a lot of other amazing bloggers.
High waisted shorts with gold stars, capes with beaded buttons and sequined singlet blouses got a huge tick of approval from me! I think you all know how much I enjoy my shorts.
