I guess it's a 'sorry, not sorry' moment when it comes to photos in this post. Sorry it's a photo overload but totally not sorry because Pompeii blew my mind and I can't not try and share the wonder I felt while walking around this ancient site. We took a few crowded trains from Naples, locked up our bags and hired audio guides before making our way into the ruins. We got audio guides as we only had a few hours to explore and we were able to do so at our own pace while only getting lost a few times. But what's wrong with getting lost when you have a whole ancient city to explore? Nothing. It's always hard to explain how I feel when I get to see ancient ruins like this with my own eyes. Similar to my visit to the My Son ruins in Vietnam back in February - we were just walking around in awe. As you can probably tell from some of the photos we witnessed a perfectly timed sun shower while we were there which was sweet relief from the heat as we were walking for hours. Also a perfect time to mention our Antler luggage bags which were a genuine saviour to us throughout our whole trip. Especially while travelling down the one way road at Positano for half an hour to find out hotel... but that leads me to my next post! Stay tuned for Positano.
