A quick little post before we say hello to the new year.
2011 has been a huge year and a great time from a blogging perspective too.
So on that note I thank you, all my lovely readers, and send you off to get sozzled and celebrate the new year!

glitters like gold

wearing: Stylestalker shirt, vintage boots and dress borrowed from Alyse.

I thought I'd tone down this sequin dress for the BWA Blogger Xmas party with this stylestalker top but it made it even more glitzy which made me love this look even more. Those sleeves make me lose control. I can't wait to wear this shirt with some grunged up denim like it's nobodies business. On the night of the party I got to hang out with Sue-ann, one half of the Stylestalker designer duo, along with a bunch of bloggers (some old favs and some new faces too). So wearing one of her pieces and sitting next to her while wearing it was fun to say the least. Big thanks to Stylestalker! The girls also run a blog themselves (here). Have a great New Years everyone!

wearing: mens shirt by Arvust (via General Pants), top by Somedays Lovin, Skirt by Cassette Society, Soles boots, Mimco bag, socks by Levante and vintage sunglasses.

This shirt found in menswear is one of my Christmas picks (seen here) from General Pants! It was only $40 and hey if you've got a boy/friend the same size you can share. Bingo! Loving this shirt because it makes an outfit look laid back and is so comfy. Now all we need is the sun.

wearing: Motel blouse (via MHQ), Lucky 13 shorts, DIY charm bracelet, DIY choker, Soles boots and Jonathan Aston socks.

During the week me and Luke indulged in a little date day in the city. Whilst there we went and saw the Harry Potter exhibition like good little kids of the 90s.
No photos were allowed inside so these are the only ones.We left with an elder wand pen and a pack of Bertie Botts every flavour beans (for the record the 'rotten egg' bean tastes like feet+death. Do not take willingly!)

I'm going to reveal that I dug out some old J-Lo earrings from the 90s to make this gold choker. Can you believe I wore such big earrings as a young girl that I can fit one around my neck!?! Too easy.

good things come to those who WANT

Last week I was asked by General Pants to come in store and share with my lovely readers my favourite picks for Christmas. General Pants have a huge gift table in store and as usual I wandered into the menswear section too.

It's getting very close to Christmas now & this week is going to be perfect to get all that shopping done. So here are my favourite picks from in store at GP!

A baseball hat is first on my list! Only $20 in menswear.
Another from menswear that I hope to style up for a summer outfit. Psst...these shirts are on sale right now!
Good ol' Ksubi.
Already thinking about winter again. Damn always wanting what I can't have!
Love both the singlet and mustard blouse.
Gold jewelley all the way this summer.
Those egglings remind me of growing bean sprouts as a child. So cute!
Sunnies are my weakness! Love these by Sabre.

You can also shop online at GP here.
Keep an eye out for an outfit post with my favourite pick coming soon!

paint the town

wearing: vintage witchery vest, Shilla dress, sports girl cardigan, rubi clogs, Jonathan Aston lace socks over red, Limedrop necklace, vintage belt and bag.

One of the upsides of the Sydney summer being bogus is that we still get to have fun with layers! I thought I'd jazz up this white dress with every trick in the book; denim, lace, studs, mixed metals and a pop of colour. I really like large frills like on this dress, they are always really flattering for anybody.

I couldn't resist doubling up on socks with these frilled pretties by Jonathan Aston. I seem to be wearing socks every day in this weather cause goddamn it you've got to take care of your feet people!

P.S. the winner of the Breo giveaway is Meg Casson!
Yet another giveaway coming soon!

wearing: vintage blouse, clutch and necklace with Somedays Lovin' skirt (via MHQ), seafolly sunglasses and Rubi booties.

Love switching it up with this skirt by Somdays with the bow at the back for a night! The girls at Market HQ had a similar idea when styling this piece, which puts great focus on the print and I can't say no to a 'party at the back' piece. You're cheeky!

I feel some christmas spirit creeping around here and I'm thinking/hoping for only good things to come for the rest of the year! Bring on Christmas celebrations, festive outfits and more food than one person can handle!

Sunday Afternoon

Here are a couple of sneak peek photos from a shoot I was involved in on Sunday.
If you follow me on twitter you'll know that myself, Marg and Sara had a 'blogger brunch' photoshoot with the most amazing team. The rest of the photos and details to come!

Americano [Sunglasses Giveaway]

Breo has answered my summer prayers.
Sunglasses and headphones are all I'm gonna need this summer.
These old school headphones are unreal! If you have never had some before you NEED to put these on your list too. There is no better way to listen to music unless you prefer to carry along a record player with you on the morning commute. Plus they are so pretty and white!

Also loving these two-tone sunnies! Since white is the 'colour' of the season these Americano sunnies by Breo can add a modern twist to summer outfits.

Christmas is just around the corner so I've teamed up with Breo to giveaway a pair of these
white Americano sunglasses!

one hundred and one

wearing: hat, wool dalmatian sweater & skirt are vintage, Mimco bag and Soles shoes (MHQ).

These photos were taken before the beginning of 24 hours worth of unfortunate events.
One being me getting sick and not able to sleep through the night. So right now I'm watching Lords Of Dogtown while slipping in and out of consciousness.

But lets not end this post on a bad note because yesterday I tried out these nail foils by Nail Couture Los Angeles. Usually I have an aversion to pink but after applied these turned out like dark shades of purple. From afar they kind of look like ombre nails! They weren't too hard to apply, it was pretty fun and they haven't peeled yet so it's newly-foiled-thumbs up from me!
