DAY 1 OUTFIT: Leather + Floral [MBFWA]

Photobucket

___________________________________

First day of MBFWA and I already have an outfit post ready! I know, I'm pretty impressed myself.
I stupidly caught a little flu on the weekend so this morning I skipped the killer heels and went for my trusty vintage boots and it totally paid off.

I arrived at the OPT in Circular Quay in the morning for Lisa Maree and Gail Sorronda collection shows, had a little lunch with the lovely girls from blogs Friend In Fashion (Jasmin), il etait une fois (Bianca) and Modern Legacy (Kaity), attended back to back shows (Camilla, Dylan Cooper & Miss Unkon) before finally giving in to my sickness and heading home to crawl into bed (soft, I know!).

Next to come on SPIN DIZZY FALL will be DAY 1 photo diary with photos from the collection shows and the streets!

Blue (and) Suede Shoes

Photobucket

I decided to sneak in these outfit photos from last night in a quick post before MBFWA kicks off tomorrow.

I've always been a fan of Somedays Lovin' so I chose this dress to wear to a 21st last night and the lace sleeves were damn handy going from freezing cold outside to burning it up inside the party (read: 'partaaaay'). I paired it with nude Saria Shoes and my vintage eel skin clutch.

Yesterday I spent the day getting organised for next week and cleaning up my room with a 'hot baked apple pie' candle filling the air with sweet sweet goodness. It was a lovely reader that sent me this amazing homemade soy candle (see below). Thanks Elisha!

Well 'ello 'ello chap! Here we have a little DIY for a pleated skirt! It's been a long while since we've seen a DIY on Spin Dizzy Fall but here we are again.

Pleats are always very hard to work with but the hardest part to this is finding a nice vintage pleated skirt. I couldn't go past this black one when I found it op-shopping and decided to cut it the same length as my pleated skirt from Market HQ (post here). If you can get away with a raw hem, go for it because hemming pleats can be a nightmare!

This may well be the last outfit post before MBFWA kicks off on Monday so wish me luck! I've only just got a couple of outfits together and there's a lot more to do so I better get to it!!

p.s I almost got through this post without mentioning the bloody cute dog sweater!!

Maroon + Military

You gotta love a good beanie. I added this pom pom fella to my trans-seasonal outfit on the weekend for a bit of colour.

I'm hoping to get some new posts up this week cause I have lots of new things to show(!) but fashion week (MBFWA) is creeping up on me by the second and I'm thinking maybe I should start organising what to wear....maybe? Interesting idea.

I got a hair cut during the week and it's so damn good that you can't even tell. Of course I can because I haven't had a professional cut for over 3 years now and it took a day to psych myself up and drag myself to the dreaded salon. In the end it was excellent and was way more successful and quicker than cutting it myself as usual!

wearing: MINKPINK pants via Market HQ, Lola vs Harper jumper, Rubi shoes, Vintage clutch, MINKPINK sunnies via Market HQ and vintage jewellery.

We took these photos on a little trip to a Tea House in one of the most lovely gardens! It's like a jungle in some parts and an english garden in others. Finally snagged myself some wide leg pants and I have not stopped wearing these since I got them, they are so damn comfortable and the high waist makes it even more acceptable (less likely to be mistaken as PJs if dressed like a slob).

I've realised I need to start working on my winter arm party. Thinking some leather bands, gold details and I've always loved the classic style Cartier watches or maybe even a rose gold number? We'll see! I'll save my pennies. Hope everyone had a relaxing weekend!

Yellow Sunshine

wearing: Lola vs Harper dress, Long cardigan from Tweet Tweet, Soles boots, vintage belt and jewellery.

I've been on Uni break this week (not that I've actually done any assignments yet or anything) but last week I painted my nails the colour of sunshine and skipped off to class in my new Lola vs Harper dress. Note one of these photos captures the moment I realise I can't pull off 'the fake laugh' for photos and just stood there going 'what am I doing... really'.

This long snuggley cardigan is from Tweet Tweet who are currently running a giveaway on their Facebook page to win $250 worth of clothes. Check the deets here!

Give Jeans A Chance [GIVEAWAY]

PhotobucketPhotobucket
wearing: Volcom sweater & jeans.

Volcom have just launched their philanthropic project 'Give Jeans A Chance', denim donation for the homeless for the second year running.

Their mission is to provide the homeless with much needed clothing leading up to the cold winter months. Donation bins will be in participating stores nationwide in which Volcom are asking people to donate a pair of old jeans. In return, donors receive a free tote, hat or DVD along with an entry into the draw for a fantastic Thrills custom motorbike and a years supply of Volcom denim.

Last year over 3,000 pairs of jeans were donated and distributed back into the homeless community…. In 2012, they want to smash that target and get everyone in need into a pair of jeans just in time for this winter. The project runs through to May 31st.

I thought this was an amazing campaign for a cause and the video was fantastic (check it, above)!! So in connection with this campaign I will be giving away a pair of Volcom jeans on SPIN DIZZY FALL (see jeans below)!

To enter:

wearing: Kimono by Shilla, ten dollar shop tee, handmade beanie, MINKPINK shorts, Soles boots, mimco bag and vintage belt.

So not long ago I announced on the Spin Dizzy Fall Facebook page that I will be going to fashion week again this year (now MBAFW). Again, I just want to have fun with outfits and also looking forward to hanging out with some of the amazing Australian bloggers that I get to call my friends and meeting even more new people.
Of course I am still dreaming of jet-setting to Indo in June as well but that seems like a lifetime away when I think about everything. But that doesn't stop me planning! It's going to be what summer was supposed to be. Some little flowy dresses, playsuits, gold jewellery and some sweet Jessica Simpson platform shoes are what I need for this tropical dream. Almost a reality!
