Its not Thursday

Sorry i lied, it is thursday.

Thank god it is cause i've finished with work for the week and now have plans to shop for the rest of the week!

This is what i wore yesterday. All i wanted to wear is my new fluffy hat that my mum found for me. Its amazing! As soon as this burst of heat dies down i am jumping into my winter knits and my fluffy hat.

Instead i wore this vintage mesh top that once belonged to my mum.

P.S Today is the last day to enter the giveaway!!! So if you live in Australia enter here

Wearing: Vintage Mesh Shirt, Vintage DIY edwins, vintage scarf as bow and favourite boots.

Dreams Unwind, Love's a state of mind

This is what i wore to a friends birthday on the weekend. I love this dress i picked up last week because i feel like Stevie nicks when i wear it.

It has beading on only one of the shoulders and i think thats why i like it. Cause its kinda unique at a nice gypsie length and i love the lace down the front. Also the beading jingles a little when i walk =)

I felt like mary poppins perched on a pole in the rain waiting for a bus to meet my friends.

I love the rain (does anyone else? not many do) because i usually get to sit inside all warm in my bed or if i have to go out i get to use my vintage umbrella.

wearing: dress- opshoped, my grandmas vintage umbrella, bag(previously posted) and sequined flats - jorando.

Also below is a picture of a few of my latest purchases/presents. The leather jacket i mentioned last post, spotty tights, new stirrup leggings and 'the girl with the dragon tattoo' novel. Who of you have read it?

sweet dreams, kitty

I'm looking after my friends dog and two cats (plus some fish) for a week while they are away. Its a nice change from the ordinary. I also get free foxtel so who's complaining?

The past week has been busy and eventful so sorry if the posts have been a little muddled and inconsistent.

My mum came back from holidays down the coast and brought me home some goodies including: a vintage oversized leather jacket, a vintage owl pin and other little bits and bobs.
I have so many things i want to wear that i haven't got the chance to yet! I think the cold weather coming will bring out more clothing/styling and then hopefully more blog posts.

Also congrats to all the winning bidders of the vintage pieces in the SDF store that ended earlier tonight.

Wearing: Silk Top-vintage, Edwin shorts-vintage, thigh high socks-paddy's, necklace & rings all seen before and watch from bali.

Mysterious gravestones

The other day, I had finished my work for the week so I decided to take some pictures with my new antique camera that I mentioned a couple posts ago. But of what?
I decided to channel ‘Amelie’ or maybe ‘colour me Katie’ for a day and place heart stickers, Beatles quotes and ‘Lost Unicorn’ flyers all over my local area.

I bought a tape dispenser, a couple packets of stickers and new film then got to work! It was fun driving around spotting places to leave little signs so that passers by would see them and (hopefully) smile or giggle to themselves.
You get the biggest adrenaline rush pulling over then running out and quickly taping your sign to a pole, meanwhile passers by are giving you strange looks and stopping in their tracks.

Oh and guess what! I got the film that was in my old camera when I bought it developed at the store and they are all pictures of a country graveyard! Very cool and me and the photo lady had a good chat as we looked through them. And now I know the camera works and takes great photos.

Also last night I made this blossom headband and can’t wait to wear it! I have been planning on doing it for a while but when I went to the fabric store their flowers were $3 each! This way I only paid $2 for a whole bunch of little flower buds at the $2 store =)

Have a wonderful weekend lovelies

Product Review: Falke 'Alizee Tights'!

The lovely ladies from Falke have sent me these Alizee Tights and I am smitten! Sorry to give away the ending already but I can’t help it! I’m in love.

The Alizee tights are the softest and most comfortable tights I’ve ever worn. They are so detailed and beautiful, the other stockings in my drawer are getting jealous! Anyway, enough of my loving worship, here’s the review!

Item type: Tights/Stockings
Material: Material composition - 91% Polyamide, 8% Elastane, 1% Cotton
Colour: Black (also available in Brenda-Brown and Opal- Blue)

Short Description: Must have stylish, intricate lace tights featuring a large intertwining floral pattern. Comfort waistband and soft seam toe, ensuring all over comfort.

Feeling when wearing: The tights are so soft and delicate, I feel like a queen. An enchanting, seductive queen that is.
Best climate: Autumn and winter of course (even suitable for spring)! You’ll definitely see these more than once on me this winter.
Where to wear: Fancy tea parties, classy dinner dates or casual but elegant days in the city! Wear these when you want to feel special.
Would look great with: Lovely mini skirts or flowy dresses. Also look fab layered with ankle socks and sandal heels.

Tips: Be careful with these babies, you’ll want to keep them for a very long time and you wouldn’t want to catch your rings on them. Lace tights are classic and will always be chic.
Price: $79.AUS

the best kind of coincidence

I havn't been myself lately so luke took me for a day of shopping and a chocolate afternoon tea at San Churro to cheer me up. I almost bought some beautiful black wedges with a buckle strap but i decided to be good and save my cash (and think about it a couple days before i give in and rush back to adopt them!)

Something amazing happened to me today and you just wont believe it but by god its true!

I found a lovely cream sweater in general pants that had pearl beads all over it and a delicate round neck. Made by 'Don't Ask Amanda' it was $80 but as i said above I'm saving my money so i didn't buy it.

On the way home luke and I stopped by one of our usual opshops and heres the punch line... I found the exact same sweater in VINTAGE FORM! Yes, i found the ORIGINAL vintage pearl beaded sweater in cream that 'don't ask amanda' must have based their design on! I must have a guardian angel looking over me and taking care of my bank account, love of shopping and vintage tendencies =)

I continued to walk around for the next twenty minutes repeating "I can't believe it, Can you believe it? It seems more of a coincidence but how can it be? Wow, i can't believe it!"

I also picked up this old camera for $3. Its smaller than my minolta so can fit easily in my handbag and i love the look of old photos so hopefully it works.

What i wore: Long Tee Dress - Vintage, Vintage leather belt, Old leather handbag from colorado, vintage flats, assorted rings and nail polish - Redcurrant Jelly by Maybelline NY (my new favourite colour, i LOVE it!).

I got soul but I'm not a soldier

The tattoo show today was really interesting. A lot of stalls with in a big hall with a whole array of people getting tattoos. There were lots of lovely dressed rockabilly girls in the crowd.

I wore these grungy punk platform boots that i picked up at an op shop last week. I love wearing them because i get to be taller for a day and they are super comfy =)

And no i didn't get a tattoo but now i know a lot of good artists and who to go to if i decide to get one in the future.

Do you guys have any tattoos?

wearing: cage knit tee - vintage, shorts - cassette society, vintage boots - destroy and glomesh purse - vintage.

P.s. Alice in wonderland was good but some silly bits at the end almost ruined it for me. The start is very well done and magical. Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen was amazing and there were some funny bits throughout the film. My favourite scene would have to be the tea party scene. Overall it was good (sorry I can't say it was amazing) but it is totally worth seeing just to check out the outfits. Alice continually changes dresses throughout the film and every one of them is amazing! Since this is a fashion blog and I'm mostly talking to fashion lovers I recommend it =)

(Bit of a mixed up review, sorry)
Thanks Reni for reminding me

Casual Wonderland

Tonight I'm going to see Alice in wonderland and i really hope it is as good as people say. I was planning on wearing a different outfit but it's too humid today, ugh! So i went for a more casual, comfy look.

We have a friend staying here and he just came back hammered, It's hilarious. I'm actually going to a tattoo exhibition with them tomorrow so it should be fun and I'll hopefully get some cool photos to show you guys.

I'm running late for dinner so i better go and i'll write more tomorrow.
Have a nice friday night.

wearing: blouse- mondi, shorts - lucky 13, bag- vintage and vintage boots.
